How can I adjust the fit of my TheraSpecs?
All TheraSpecs frames are highly adjustable. The metal frames can simply be bent to shape, while the plastic frames adjust best if warmed with a hair dryer first. Go slowly while adjusting: tiny changes can make huge differences! Call or email us for more detailed instructions. Note: Adjusting your TheraSpecs will not change our 60-day return and exchange policy.
When and where should I wear my TheraSpecs?
We’ve seen three common ways TheraSpecs are used:
- All the time: Some people wear their TheraSpecs whenever they are awake because light is almost always painful or a trigger for them.
- Around known triggers: Some people wear TheraSpecs whenever they’ll be exposed to light they know causes them problems, such as fluorescents or bright sunlight.
- During an attack: Some use their TheraSpecs for relief during migraines or other acute attacks.
Wear your indoor TheraSpecs as much as you like indoors or outside on overcast days. Wear your outdoor TheraSpecs only outdoors in bright sunlight; we do not recommend regularly wearing outdoor TheraSpecs (or any sunglasses) inside because it can worsen your light sensitivity over time.
How long does it take for TheraSpecs to help?
Most people can feel a difference as soon as they put on their TheraSpecs, while others take a little longer to get used to them. This is most commonly reported by customers who are used to wearing sunglasses indoors. We encourage you to wear your TheraSpecs for as long as you feel comfortable and then gradually increasing the amount of time you wear them each day over 2-3 weeks to see how they work for you.
What if I need a different size or style?
That’s why we have our 60-day, no-hassle return and exchange policy! We’ll work with you to identify a better alternative, such as a different frame style or one of our custom lens options. Just call or email us and we’ll work with you to make that exchange. Please note that custom products are not eligible for returns or exchanges, and you can learn more at theraspecs.com/return-policy.
How do I clean and care for my TheraSpecs?
Lens cleaner can be bought at many stores, but we find that washing with warm water and a drop of dish soap works best for cleaning. Lightly brush off any grit and then clean them with a microfiber cloth. The bag they come in works well for this. When you aren’t wearing your TheraSpecs, protect them with their bag or a case. We recommend avoiding pre-moistened lens cleaning wipes, as they tend to have a high alcohol content, which can damage the tint.
What is your return policy?
While TheraSpecs help the vast majority of people who wear them, we know every brain is different. That’s why we believe in no-hassle returns and exchanges. You can return undamaged, non-custom TheraSpecs within 60 days of purchase for a refund or exchange them for another frame style or lens option. Some products are not eligible for returns and/or exchanges. We encourage you to read our full return policy to learn more.
