“56 Year Old Believer in TheraSpecs” (Russ’ Story)
That was the subject line of an email sent to us by Russ from West Virginia, and what a story he had to share. Three years ago, Russ was in a car accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury (TBI). This left him with TBI light sensitivity, migraine attacks, and even seizures. He could not even go outside in the sunlight for a few minutes without having to retreat back to the safety of a darkened room.
“I have literally been a prisoner in my own home with blackout curtains and 15 watt bulbs,” he said. “I have dreaded spring and summertime because the sunlight caused migraines so bad that I would be sick for days.”
In a wonderful moment of serendipity, Russ’ daughter learned of TheraSpecs and let him know about the benefit of our precision-tinted lenses for similar patients with TBI.
