Frequently Asked Questions about Flex

Does Flex use FL-41?

Yes, our Flex TheraSpecs are the lightest version we offer with the FL-41 tint, which filters the most harmful wavelengths of light between 480-520nm. These are the wavelengths most responsible for aggravating sensitivity to light.

Does Flex filter blue light? How does Flex compare to regular blue light glasses?

Yes, our Flex lenses filter the wavelengths between 480-520nm, which is in the blue-green spectrum. They also remove more blue light from a wider range of the spectrum compared to typical clear or nearly-clear blue light glasses.

Like all TheraSpecs lenses, Flex also blocks 100% UV light and features an anti-reflective coating to further enhance your comfort.

Does Flex come in other colors? Which one should I choose?

Our Flex lens comes in one strength, but it features two color options: peach and lavender. Flex peach is generally the best choice for most people, and Flex lavender trades some protection for an even more subtle tint.

Can I wear Flex while driving at night to manage headlights?

Yes, Flex is what we recommend if you have difficulties with headlights and other harsh light on the road. It is light enough that it is legal to wear while driving at night in most jurisdictions under safe conditions. Always check your local laws and do not wear Flex when the road is insufficiently lit.

If you’re wanting greater visual clarity while driving at night, try Contrast HEV instead.

When should I wear Flex lenses?

We recommend Flex if you are mildly sensitive to light and/or if you want all-day protection for screens and other artificial sources—all with a subtle tint. Flex can also be worn for night driving if headlights are a problem for you.

For stronger FL-41 protection against artificial light, consider FL-Pro or FL-Blend.

Can I get Flex in my prescription or as readers?

Yes, you can get Flex lenses with your prescription or with reader correction. (Note: WearOver styles are non-prescription only.) Simply tap/click on your preferred frame style above, choose either "Prescription" or "Reading Glasses" under Lens Correction, and complete the rest of the options before adding to your cart.

What if Flex does not work for me?

You have 60 days for returns or exchanges of all non-custom TheraSpecs, so you can make sure Flex is the best option for your needs. If you are wanting prescription or reader TheraSpecs, we suggest starting with one of our fully refundable fitover styles.
